The Castaway Picnic

Head off on a little adventure and you will feel as though you have the island all to yourself. Indulge in a delicious local picnic created with love by the incredible team in the kitchen. sit back, relax and take in the glorious 360-degree views of the ocean that surrounds you. You may even catch a glimpse of the elusive dugong, or dolphins enjoying a play in their natural habitat. Soak in the calm, aquamarine waters of the Indian Ocean and experience a real castaway paradise.

Helicopter to the Island

Once you arrive into Vilanculos it is then a short helicopter ride across to the island and it is an incredible first welcome to the lodge. Flying over the turquoise waters it will take your breath away, the views from here are some of the best you will encounter. If you are lucky enough you may even spot some of the sea life below you. A great way to start your experience at &Beyond Benguerra Island and a memorable one too.

The Views

Welcome to a tropical oasis, sheltered within a canopy of indigenous casuarina pine forest and views that open up onto the secluded bay, with nothing but sandy beaches and turquoise waters surrounding you. Relax by the pool that too overlooks the ocean, or head to the beach where you will find a traditional dhow that has been cleverly transformed, here you can enjoy in a delicious a cocktail or indulge in some fresh seafood, all whilst lapping up that Mozambique horizon.

  • I would recommend this place to anyone!

    We spent 3 nights here in October and had a great time. There would be very few better beaches in the world, the rooms are great and the staff are brilliant. Our butler, Paulo, was great fun and was very attentive. As with all AndBeyond lodges, the food was fantastic. The Dhow Bar is my favourite bar in the world, so I’d recommend a few R&R’s to anyone.

    Arriving at andBeyond by Helicopter is just the most fantastic way to start what proved to be a magical stay.
    Andi was a super host making sure everything was good without being in your face.
    All the staff were faultless,nothing was ever too much trouble & it was a great end to an epic holiday.
    The settings for mealtimes on the beach were spectacular, the boat bar a welcome venue & the little treats for our 25th Wedding Anniversary very considerate.
