The chalets at the lodge are perfectly positioned and offer panoramic views over the river. The decor simple yet tasteful and offer a very African bush feel. Each of the rooms have a spacious veranda, where you can enjoy some peace and quiet and watch and listen to the birds as they chant their songs. Get comfortable in the hammock and you will get lost in your own little world, peace and quiet and the perfect spot for a relaxing getaway.
The lodge is the only fishing lodge on this stretch of the Zambezi River, offering those avid fishermen near exclusivity of the river between the Katambora rapids and the Botswana and Namibian boarders. A famous and popular spot for the tigerfish, this is the place to head to if you are a keen angler, Imbabala Lodge will ensure you have an excellent day out and hopefully hook one of the infamous and best fighting fresh water fish in the world.
There is something about being near the water and even better when you get the opportunity to head out on a cruise on the Zambezi River. Choose from a morning on afternoon safari and watch as the banks come to life with the wildlife around. A favourite is the afternoon/evening river cruise, the opportunity to see the sunset from the natural beauty of the water, get the camera ready as it is a glorious spectacle. There are often sightings of elephants as well as the smaller wildlife and the birding also prolific.
