Somalisa Acacia

Somalisa Acacia is the sister property to Somalisa Camp, and although the two are very similar in style they are run separately and Somalisa Acacia is perfect for families, especially those with young children. With just 4 tents, 2 of them are family units. Each room is constructed from wooden frames and canvas is used for the walls and roof, they are classic safari style tents and offer wonderful views from the raised deck. A luxurious camp designed with families in mind, a comfortable stay in the middle of the bush.

Lodge Key Features

Family Friendly

The camp is designed with families in mind and they cater to all ages. When heading out on safari as a family it is important to know that the youngsters will be well looked after and are also in a safe environment. Kids are encouraged to enjoy the game drives, however walking safaris are restricted to 16+. Each family who stays is assigned a ‘child specialist’. They are there to help with younger family members, especially in the middle of the day when the rest of the family want to enjoy some down time and a siesta. You can be guaranteed your little ones are in good hands and will be kept entertained.

Main Area

There are 4 spacious tents, all raised above the ground, decorated in traditional safari style and situated close by to the central area. As the camp caters specifically to families its perfect for those with small children to get to the dining area and relaxation deck. The main area overlooks a waterhole and you can enjoy the small plunge pool on a warm afternoon, between walks and drives. It is the perfect space to enjoy some family time after you have had something to eat and before heading off to enjoy a siesta.

    I stayed at Somalisa Acacia for 3 nights and had a splendid time. The camp is just beautiful and the staff is extremely professional and everyone makes you feel at home and like part of a family. The food was delicious and the tents are lovely. I was lucky to have the best guide ever – Calvert. Not only is he extremely knowledgeable and in tune with the animals’ behaviors, but he is so funny and one of the best storytellers I have ever listened to.

  • WOW!

    We didn’t want to skimp on our accommodations in Africa and decided to go with Somalisa. It was a great choice. Elephants and baboons frequented the watering hole and were amazing to watch. Listening to the roar of a lion at night was a first. The staff is excellently trained in customer service and do everything to make your stay pleasant.
