Khulu Bush Camp is situated in the Sikumi Forest Reserve, adjacent to Hwange National Park. The camp has 6 small, tasteful and comfortable suites and it overlooks a waterhole which are very popular with the elephant that frequent the area. Not only do they enjoy time at the waterhole, but they regularly head up to the pool and enjoy a drink here, you can get so close to them, its spectacular.
Incredible location overlooking a stunning watering hole. The swimming pool is a common drinking spot for the elephants, as they love the fresh water. I had elephants drinking from the pool while I was swimming. Awesome experience. I had incredible wildlife sightings including lion chasing buffalo, leopard, African wildcat, shrub hare, jackal, giraffe, zebra, sable, roan and much more… The guiding was brilliant. The vehicles all new and well thought out and the rooms are a good blend of luxury and bush. Love this spot. Will be back soon.

The Lodge has 5 well-appointed, bespoke, elegant safari suites that are each built onto a platform, as well as these they also have a honeymoon suite. All suites include not only an inside shower and bath but an outside shower and bath too. Each suite has a modern feel to it and guests can enjoy game viewing from their very own balcony where you can enjoy you morning or afternoon cup of tea or coffee (there’s even Nespresso machines in each of the rooms).
Enjoy a set 3 course gourmet meal prepared by the talented chefs and be wined and dined around the Captains Table. Let’s be honest, the second-best thing to being out on safari is the cuisine and Khulu offer a unique experience. They have a ‘show kitchen’ which allows you to fully immerse yourself the process of the food preparation. Watch as your food is made and interact with the chefs themselves; something different and enjoyed by so many who pass through.
This area is a haven for elephants, the waterhole is close by and you are more than likely to see the glorious beasts coming up for a drink or play around with each other; very entertaining. Not only this, but they tend to enjoy a drink from the pool too. The lodge haven’t left it unclean for days, the elephants have mastered their way up to the pool and enjoy taking large gulps from here. Don’t be surprised when you are sat having lunch, they may appear suddenly; it is an incredible scene so have the camera ready.
