Lodge Key Features

Tom’s Little Hide

Tom’s Little Hide offers the intimate safari getaway and is perfect for families and children of all ages. It is a beautiful authentic safari house and comes with your very own guide and vehicle. Made up of 3 large rooms and 1 child’s room, all with en-suite bathrooms and views that look out onto the waterhole, you can enjoy your very own safari from the private veranda, sit in the swimming pool and watch as the animals pass by the area, right on your very own doorstep.

The Doves Nest

Anyone staying at The Hide can enjoy a night in the Doves Nest. Your very own treehouse, in a romantic African setting where you can sleep out in the wild under the stars and immerse yourself with the sounds of the bush around you. From your bed you can overlook the tree-lined vlei and pan where you can capture a number of animals coming down for a drink. Nothing but you the bush and the wild sounds of the animals in the area; it is pretty magical and not to be missed when staying here.

Personal experience

Due to the location of The Hide and it being on its own private concession there is a far more relaxed atmosphere when staying here, each day is different, and it depends on how much you wish to do. Head out on as many activities as you like, a morning walk followed by a drive before lunch and then head out again late afternoon and into the evening, or even after dinner.

If you want more privacy you can get this at the ‘Private Hide’;  best suited for smaller families, couples or small groups who want a private safari. The Private Hide offers private dining, lounge and pool facilities. The perfect “outdoor living room” that utilizes the deluxe tents of The Hide, it creates the perfect exclusive use mini safari camp for between 2 and 8 guests.

Client Reviews

  • Wow, just wow!

An unforgettable experience which allows you to truly experience Africa! Sunrise and sunset safaris with so many animals. Our guide was Givemore and his knowledge was very impressive, adding so much to our overall experience. The staff were just beautiful and interacted easily with guest which is lovely. The food was exquisite. Nothing like being kept awake by the noise of elephant sloshing around in the waterhole and lions roaring in the distance! We felt totally safe at all times and can’t wait to go back some time. The Hide is not to be missed!

  • Stunning Wildlife & Location

With a wonderful location overlooking a waterhole it wasn’t unusual to note as much wildlife from the Hide as from the drives. An added dimension was the underground hide which allowed incredible close access to the animals as they drank and washed – an amazing experience.

  • Most memorable experience

We just returned from our 19 day trip to Africa. Our last safari stay was at The Hide. We had stayed at more luxurious lodges prior but had the best safari experience at The Hide. This lodge is more rustic than the other lodges we stayed at but it is in the middle of a National Park with tons of animals to see. Givemore was our guide and he was perfect.
