Chobe Game Lodge

The only lodge within the park and based on the river it is a lovely place to explore the area from and boasts one of the only lodges with an all female guiding team! With an emphasis on inclusivity and social impact they have wheelchair access, a huge range of amenities and electric boats and vehicles. Despite being on the larger side they make every effort to make each client feel special and certainly achieve it!

Why we love Chobe Game Lodge!

‘Chobe Game Lodge was a wonderful experience, as a former guide it was magical to see an all female guiding team and also incredible to see the lengths the lodges did to help its surrounding area. From community support to electric boats you can see why this is a top choice!’

Exceptional member of staff: All the ladies, Guides: The warmth from the all female guiding team at Chobe Game Lodge was brilliant-you are sucked into the family almost immediately with your sisters always popping by to say hi or have a cup of tea with you before drives, these women strive to make you feel welcome and well looked after!

Lodge Key Features

The guides

The all female guiding team is of a very high standard, competing to have a place in a male dominated industry means female guides often have to work harder to be taken seriously. All the guides here were incredibly friendly and knowledgeable and really got to know the individual clients usually joining them for afternoon tea before the evening sundowner cruises. It was great to see such a high standard of guiding and even nicer to see strong females holding their own!

The location

The only lodge within the park it is perfectly located to begin spotting wildlife from your very own room. You can easily spend a few hours on the decks watching who comes down to the river. We spotted an elephant drinking right next to the deck when we visited but did hear a story about a leopard giving birth to two tiny cubs under the deck a few years ago!! Because you are already in the park you miss the mad rush at the gates and are able to explore both the river and park further and usually without so many others around which is a real bonus.

The food here was delicious and some of my favourite on safari, with huge number of choices of places to eat they make the most of the grounds and offer to set up private dinners in numerous spots. Each area also has some great menus and we really enjoyed eating here, even the sundowner snacks were elevated from the usual nuts and crisps which was a nice touch!

Client Reviews

  • EVERYTHING was a highlight. Trip of a lifetime

This place is simply amazing on every level. From its magical location, to the comfort, luxury and magnificent design of the accommodation, and last, but best, the incredible, impeccable and welcoming service of every single staff member.
The dinner experience is magnificent, with a different outside location chosen each night and the balmy evenings, with animal sounds in the distance is truly fabulous.

  • Excellent First Stop in Botswana

We stayed here for two nights on our honeymoon and thought Chobe Game Lodge was the perfect introduction to safari in Botswana (we moved on to the delta afterwards). Our room was amazing – we were upgraded to a two bedroom suite with a private plunge pool – which was perfect for spending down time between boating and drives.

  • Wake in luxury to birds, monkeys, baboons, warthogs, mongoose…

Our first game lodge and what a treat! Beautiful spot on Chobe River. Gourmet & unusual menu served by very attentive staff. We skipped a meal & were chided the next morning! Kedi was excellent guide – my favorite was when she spotted dung beetles in the road! (Fascinating – look them up). We managed to leave shirts in closet, told our next place and they arrived the next day by plane! Washed & pressed! Outstanding!
