Situated beneath a grove trees, Davison’s is in one of the most abundant wildlife areas in Hwange National Park; the private Linkwasha Concession. It is your classic safari camp that offers everything you would want and need when heading out on safari. The tents are spacious and comfortable and offer great views over the waterhole and open plains. You don’t need to venture too far to enjoy the wildlife in the area; they come right up near camp as the waterhole is a favourite spot for many of the elephant in the area. There is a pattern here…Hwange have gotten it right, where there is water there will be wildlife.
A cute little intimate camp in a great location, in what I think is the best concession in Hwange National Park. We had great lion and cheetah sightings as well as much much more. The vehicles are brilliant complimented by fantastic guides. Leo is one of the best guides I have had in Africa. I love how he has worked his way up from washing plates to being one of the best guides around. The staff were all brilliant, the meals superb and the few from the deck and swimming pool is pretty special.

Although the camp is not as luxurious as some of the others in the area, it is well managed, well designed and you get a true safari experience when staying here. The classic safari tents are basic yet spacious and comfortable and offer a veranda where you can overlook the waterhole. The mesh windows give guests to visibility to enjoy the wild from the comfort of your own bed, listen to the sounds and you could for all you know be sleeping under the stars.
The main attraction when going out on safari are the game drives. Davison’s offer drives into both the park and the concession so it’s great to have the opportunity to see something a little different on each activity you head out on. The diversity of the wildlife in Hwange is pretty spectacular, with over 100 mammals, so you are guaranteed to enjoy some great viewing. Walking safaris are also hugely popular and all guides have to have a license to take guests out; if you enjoy seeing wildlife from a different angle then this is highly recommended.
It’s always nice to come back from a morning activity, freshen up and head down to the main area and when there’s a pool this makes it that little more pleasant; especially in the hotter months or during the heat of the day. Enjoy some down time in the spacious lounge area, this is then lead onto a large deck with an open campfire; perfect for the evenings and stargazing. The pool is perfectly positioned if you want to enjoy a relaxed afternoon, watch the wildlife by the waterhole and take in the remote African bush and animals that completely surround you.
