Chobe Bush Lodge

Chobe Bush Lodge is one of the larger lodges based on the outskirts of Kasanae and a 10-minute drive from the park, it sits next to its larger sister Chobe Safari Lodge. For those looking to travel in large groups or who are more budget conscious this is perfect, based on the river there is a variety of plains game within the lodge grounds, the food is of a very high standard and the rooms are very comfortable.

Why we love Chobe Bush Lodge!

‘Chobe Bush Lodge had a very modern feel, from rooms with 4 walls for more nervous clients to the brilliant selection of food. Based on the river you get to see a variety of game around the lodge like the cheeky mongoose outside my room!’

Lodge Key Features

The food

With many choices of where to eat you can either help yourself at the massive buffets at the sister lodge or opt for an a la Carte meal in the bush lodge. At the bush lodge the chef is around to offer you a palate cleanser to start you off and explain the menu to you! There is a wide variety of Western to African cuisine so there is something for everyone!

Rooms

The rooms here are spacious and cosy, with 4 solid walls and an open en-suite bathroom (there is a curtain you can shut should you wish some privacy whilst showering) it is a great spot to relax in the evening. All the rooms have a TV so you can catch up on what is going on in the world after your safari!

The Lodge

Although fairly large the lodge is clean open and airy and in a prime position next to the river, with a bar area, restaurant, pool and access to the facilities in Chobe Safari Lodge you can always find something to do between activities. They do outsource game drives so be warned you will be with other people and the park can be busy but the staff are helpful and usually very friendly.

Client Reviews

  • Riverside location

Lovely setting by the river, rooms are large and comfortable with a bath and shower. No fridge in room but water provided every day.
Swimming pool refreshing and nice to sit and relax on the sun beds. Restaurant was ok, good at breakfast but not so good in the evening for vegetarians.
Nice to see warthogs around the property and crocs nearby.

  • Merits the highest rating.

We arrived at lunchtime after a transfer from Livingstone. The wart hog family in the parking area greeted us!
We loved the big open lobby area and our huge and comfortable room. Chobe Bush Lodge was one of several properties chosen for us by Witness Africa Botswana, the tour operator who made such a great job of this trip.

  • Fantastic

The place is amazing. The rooms are very big with nice terraces. Spectacular bathroom with stand alone bath. Staff is friendly and very helpful. We stayed in the budget one as it doesn’t have the views to the river but from our point of view was much better than the expensive one. The menu was a la Carter instead of the buffet one in the luxury one and the swimming pool was quieter.
