Location and climate

The location of the hotel is enough to sell it, exquisite views of mountains, rivers and rolling hills of the vineyards. The mild Mediterranean climate of this region make the numerous outdoor activities a pleasure, warm days and cool evenings make it a great spot to escape the gloomy weather at home. The little town of Franschhoek is just a 3 minute drive or 20 minute walk from the hotel so if you’re staying for a few days and want to explore a little further afield, go and check out what’s happening here.

Spa and Activities

With the gorgeous views you could quite happily take a dip in the pool or sit on your veranda wiling away the time with a good book and a glass of the local wine, taking in the fresh air. The Leeu Estates Wine Studio offers the ultimate wine tasting experience with a cosy and elegant tasting room and an array of superb wines. You will be taken on a journey from seed to bottle of this award-winning collection which has so far received 25 five-star ratings from Platter’s South African Wine Guide. The whole wine making process is explained as you sample the different wines with emphasis on what makes the Leeu Estates wine so unique.   • Heaven on Earth

    Our time at Leeu Estate was nothing short of exquisite. It took our breath away! The location/view, gardens, sculptures & art particularly made for a very, very special home for 3 nights. Everyone who worked at Leeu Estate was attentive & kind. The breakfasts were stunning. Leaving was incredibly hard and we can’t wait to return. I’ll have to insist we stay longer that time 🙂

  • Fabulous two nights stay

    We spent two nights at Leeu Estates. The hotel and grounds are spectacular with breathtaking views of Franschhoek. The website does not do the place justice. Most memorable are the staff. Everyone is accommodating and friendly – no request is too much. All of the food we had from the restaurant was excellent and there is a wonderful spa in which to relax and swim, set amongst the vineyards. This is the perfect place to relax and switch off. Faultless.

    From the moment we arrived to the moment we left , the entire experience was wonderful and memorable. The staff took the time to remember your name and even your morning coffee preferences. A trip of a lifetime, although I think we will be back in this lifetime.
