As you have your own house with your own staff, you can make your own schedule and beat to your own drum. If you want to get up a little earlier to catch the sunrise or do some star spotting it is not a problem. You also have your own chef, who can cater to your needs- providing banquet feasts at night, if you so desire.
It really is just about discussing with your hosts to meet your needs for activities, food and comfort. This is after all your home from home in the bush! Away from other guests and lodges.
The house is based in a game management area so you are not constricted by park rules. This means you (and your family) can go on short walks with the guide (to his discretion) to learn how to track, bird calls and to see some smaller creatures. Don’t be fooled though you are just across the river from the park and will often have animals in camp (particularly elephants who love crossing the river) so you will still see plenty. And, of course, you cross the river for the game drives!
There is also a wildlife hide near the house where you can sit and observe the wildlife without them knowing of your presence. A fantastic opportunity for the entire family to get up close to the game of South Luangwa.
Robin Pope is long known for its excellent guiding and with your own personal guide, you can get as niche as you like. Love birding? Spend an afternoon watching the birds that come and go. Love insects? Only want to see leopards? Yearning for that magical photography shot? Just ask your guide and he will do his best to make it happen! This experience is yours, so make it one to remember.
