Dinaka

Located in a 20,000-hectare private conservancy on the northern boundary of the Central Kalahari Game Reserve, the desert landscape is home to abundant animal and bird life. The spacious en-suite safari tents boast indoor and outdoor showers and are raised on wooden decks, gifting you with a spectacular vantage point to gaze over the permanent waterhole in front of camp which attracts an array of wildlife. Activities include morning, afternoon and night game drives in open safari vehicles. Alternatively, you may get more up close and personal with nature on foot with guided bush walks.

Why we love Dinaka!

The Kalahari is everything you expect and with the newly renovated Dinaka you have a perfect blend of luxury in the wild. Dinaka was my first real Botswana safari and I loved it for so many reasons but mostly, that it was so different to what I am used to. Flying from Maun straight into camp, where Dinaka (Ker & Downey Botswana) have their own private concession, was amazing and meant very few other vehicles, actually we did not see another vehicle the whole time we were there. I had the pleasure of seeing a wide range of species I don’t normally see in Zambia like Oryx, Ostrich, Rhino etc. This is the real wild Africa and I loved it so much. Great combo with Okavango/Zambia.

Client Reviews

  • Fabulous Experience in the Kalahari

Our group of four recently stayed at Dinaka for just two nights. We pretty much loved everything about our stay there. I love arriving to a camp and being picked up by the safari vehicle and having a mini game drive on the way to camp. We also really liked the welcome song that the staff sings as you arrive in your safari vehicle.

  • Extraordinary stay at Dinaka

We spent 3 days at Dinaka as a family of 6 with our four kids aged 6 to 12. We had the most wonderful time. The level of friendliness and attention of the staff is unparalleled, the camp managers are clearly leading by example here. The game viewing excellent and exclusive, our guide was both very approachable and knowledgeable.

  • Desert Oasis

Experiencing the Kalahari desert is like nothing I have ever experienced. It is very hot , dry and austere but the Dinaka camp is a beautiful comfortable way to experience this inhospitable environment. The wildlife is abundant and our very capable guide, Mr. Bonolo, found a multitude of animals for us.
