With large rooms with baths and showers overlooking the river it’s a great place to relax with a wellness spa and large pool there is plenty to do between your activities.

Why we love Zambezi Grande!

‘A beautiful modern touch on the river, this new lodge is the epitome of ‘boutique luxury’and you could easily spend an afternoon at the lodge looking at all the trinkets and books before having sundowners in the infinity pool over the river! It was a beautiful modern revive on a river of tradition!’

If you stay in the executive rooms, try the outdoor shower or soak in the bath overlooking the river!

Activities

Lower Zambezi is well known for its excellent wildlife and within this park there are several ways to get up close to the animals. From the traditional game drives and walks to the serene boat safaris and exciting canoeing safaris. Get up and close to the pods of hippos, watch as a crocodile silent hunts down the river and enjoy watching the animals from a new perspective as they come to drink. And to top that all you can enjoy tiger fishing whist here! Have a shot seeing who can get the biggest catch you or the crocs!

Client Reviews

  • African Wilderness at its Best

What an amazing place! A big thank you to Obert, Molly and the Zambezi Grande team for a wonderful weekend away.We were treated like royalty from the moment we arrived. The guides and support team are extremely knowledgeable, and were able to identify anything that moved! The birders among us added a number of new species including the African Skimmer, and rollers and bee eaters.

  • Pure Magic

I was blessed with the greatest privilege of spending 3 nights at Zambezi Grand for my 50th Birthday and it changed me forever. The Lodge and its wonderful people touched a place deep inside me. From the moment we touched down at Royal airstrip to be greeted by Derek and some elephant on the runway up until our somewhat tearful goodbyes 3 days later, our every wish, want and need was taken care of along with so many things we didn’t even know we wanted, wished for or needed.

  • An Experience to treasure!

My experience of the Zambezi Grande was just short of perfect. I was privileged to be part of a Travel Agent Fam trip this past weekend and from the moment we arrived and was welcomed by the staff’s singing and beating of the drums I could feel the Zambian hospitality. Obert and his team just know how to make you feel welcome and at home. The lodge is right on the edge of the Zambezi River and the view from the deck stretches for miles and you could spot and hear the hippos frolicking in the river below. My room was spacious and beautifully decorated.
