Lodge Key Features

Location

The Timbavati is a well-known area of the Kruger concessions just north of Sabi. Filled with wildlife that is able to freely roam from Kruger National Park, the area is famous for the white lions, which show a form of leucism where the skin and eyes are pigmented but the coats are white as snow! With over 40 mammal species and over 350 birds it is a must for those that wish to see as much wildlife as possible in a limited time frame.

Rooms

The elevated colonial style suites all have AC, en-suite bathrooms with indoor and outdoor showers and separate Victorian bathtub. A private veranda equipped with a hammocks provides views over the waterhole so you can continue spotting the wildlife at all times of day. Enjoy free WiFi, fluffy bathrobes, hairdryer and complimentary products and some animal reference books in case you do see something you cant quite place. Did we mention the Nespresso coffee station and mini bar within the room? So you will be fully equipped for any emergency!

Rhino Conservation

To try and combat the poaching epidemic in South Africa at the moment, Kng’s Camp is looking at micro chipping their rhino population. Guests at the camp can participate in locating and darting the rhino, assisting with keeping the rhino cool whilst under. An expert vet will be there to explain the process. This then enables the camp to track the rhino and develop a database so that should the rhino be killed they have a sample of its ivory which can be matched and traced in order provide evidence for criminal arrest.

Client Reviews

  • Stunning camp with fantastic food and people, and the best game drives

Really couldn’t have enjoyed this anymore than we did. A beautiful setting with luxurious rooms – plunge pool, veranda, beautiful bathrooms with outdoor shower. Delicious food that was varied and beautifully presented. And the most friendly people – a real team that works together to ensure that everything is just so.

  • Outstanding

Third time on a South Africa safari camp and let me tell you that Kings Camp is THE BEST!!!! We were in a family trip and they made us feel at home. We saw the Big 5 on day one. The game rides were so nice, we learned a lot. The staff is so wonderful, they are always happy and there when you need them. Our rooms were amazing, we enjoyed the plunge pools, fire pits and the outside showers so much. The food is another great thing they offer!!!

  • King’s Camp Adventure

My husband went on our first African Safari in September 2019 and our first stay was at King’s Camp. We had the Honeymoon Suite and were treated royally by the managers and the staff. The room was beautiful and had a patio and a plunge pool. We saw wild animals from every window in our room! The game drives were spectacular and we learned so much from our Guide who had an extensive knowledge of the wildlife.
