Islands of Siankaba
The perfect island paradise situated a fair distance from the falls where you can relax in perfect tranquillity away from the busy falls. Situated on two islands you will spot otters playing around the river banks, hippos munching on the grass below your raised chalet and elephants sometimes wander through! With incredible food, excellent hosts and of course some incredible activities on offer, it is perfect for those who want a slightly quieter lodge when visiting the smoke that thunders
Why we love Islands of Siankaba!
This beautiful island paradise is the perfect tranquil place to relax when exploring the falls, from otters and hippos swimming around the island to the incredible rooms with huge bathtubs with a view over the river, amazing food and hilarious managers. I was treated like royalty here and can’t wait to go back! Crossing the swing bridge to get to my room on the second island was a really fun way of making the lodge seem so remote!

Exceptional member of staff: Eunice, host: Probably my best lunch companion to date-hilarious and entertaining she is a shining star in the company. If you don’t have a dinner companion or want someone to bring some fun to the table ask for Eunice!

The star ratings are based on a variety of different criteria.
Namely it is a comparative aspect against the other lodges in this country and/or area. We like to think of this rating as a mix of the accommodation (please do remember just because the rating is lower doesn’t mean it is a bad lodge more that it maybe more of a rustic nature), guiding and wildlife in the area, food, safety and general vibe.
The lower ratings tend to either be due to being a rustic lodge or being in e.g a busy area of the park. This should be used as a general guide but please do contact us for more detail or check out the reasons why we love these lodges.

Location
The Location of Islands of Siankaba is impressive, as it is situated on two islands on the Zambian side of the Zambezi River, this gives it a uniqueness alone. It is near enough to head over and visit the incredible Victoria Falls but far enough to get away from the crowds and enjoy the forest and bush around you in peace.
Unwind
The main lodge has a very warm welcoming feel to it with comfortable furniture around the lodge to enjoy the views out onto the river. Relax in the sun loungers around the pool or enjoy a treatment in the spa. For the ultimate peaceful treat, enjoy taking a Mokoro trip along the river at sunrise, see the sky turn from pink to blue as the river gently takes you downstream, look out for the wildlife and birds.
Explore the island on the nature trail with a guide who will explain to you what all the trees are called and how they use them in daily life, or learn about the great local work they do with the Siankaba community. Alternatively, you can cruise along the river with a gin and tonic in hand at sunset. Unwind and take in the scenery, you will feel right at home here. It really is a little slice of heaven.
Deluxe accommodation
Each chalet at the Islands of Siankaba are spacious, comfortable and luxurious. They have thought of everything, you won’t want to leave the comfort of your little slice of heaven. With large comfortable beds, a mini fridge and tea and coffee station you will feel right at home. The bathroom is tucked away towards to back of the chalet and each boasts a beautiful claw-foot bathtub and a shower. The rooms are secluded, situated around the edge of the island but hidden by the natural wilderness. The rooms are raised above the ground so you can enjoy the views of the Zambezi River from your very own balcony and take in the surroundings the area has to offer.
Client Reviews
- Relaxing unique experience with ample opportunities for wildlife viewingThe Islands of Siankaba is a lovely tented facility on an Island in the Zambezi River. For us it was a welcome respite between visits to various Game Reserves. It was also a base to see the Victoria Falls, which they arranged to the Zimbabwe side along with other activities, all of which were included in the tariff.EVASATraveler
- Peaceful heavenSiankaba is serene and unique and you relax as soon as you board the boat for the islands. The cabins are spacious and secluded with the most stunning views of the Zambezi and luxurious features. We arrived exhausted after a hectic work week and left refreshed and relaxed. The staff were lovely, the massage great, the sunset cruises beautiful, and we enjoyed the communal dinners with the hosts and other guests. Would highly recommend!Christine C
- Peaceful Islands of Siankaba – So beautifulThis small boutique type Island hotel just has six or seven tents and their are suspension bridges to get around. You get to the hotel by boats and dug out canoes. It is just so quiet and peaceful. All the staff are very friendly and accommodating and the food is lovely. They all go out of your way to make it special for you. Having dinner is at a big table with all of the guest and a staff member, very nice. This hotel also supports the local school as well, they do great work. So beautiful and lovely you have to go.MapleCruisers
