The River Club

Situated high on the banks of the Zambezi River, The River Club offers some of the most magnificent views in the area, and with the Victoria Falls just around the corner. The Lodge is homely and luxurious and has an older-colonial touch to it giving a historical feel throughout the Lodge. The River Club is all about offering their guests an authentic experience so relax, unwind and enjoy the adventures that are on offer at this beautiful spot.

Why we love The River Club!

The rooms are large and spacious with amazing views looking out onto the river. The grounds are beautiful and other than the usual safari activities there is a pool to enjoy as well as a gym. Dinner outside was a special touch and the sunset cruise was a highlight.

The Lodge offers a truly authentic experience to its guests and you can see throughout the Lodge that there is a presence of the natural heritage. The Lodge is committed to the local community and preserving the history of Livingstone, which is very evident when staying here. They focus on attention to detail and ensure that all guests have a memorable and relaxing stay.

Setting

Situated upstream from the infamous Victoria Falls, The River Club is its own peaceful sanctuary. Set on 50 acres of beautiful gardens and surrounded by natural beauty and incredible wildlife. The rooms are hidden within the trees so you feel very secluded. Each chalet is raised from the ground so guests can enjoy magnificent views of the Zambezi River with exciting sightings of wildlife and birds around. Whether you wish to unwind and relax with one of the books from the Library or enjoying one of the activities on offer with incredible sights, The River Club offers the perfect mix. A wonderful destination for all the family and a home away from home.

Activities

Not only can you enjoy the usual activities around the area and Victoria Falls, the River Club has the space to offer extra exciting things to do when staying here. Enjoy a day by the pool on the very comfortable sun loungers or hop into one of the hammocks and relax. There is also a tennis court, croquet lawn, boules and a snooker table. If you wish to get out and about then enjoy the 2km nature trail which is available every day to guests.

Three nights was too short!We stayed at the River Club as our first destination of a 3 week trip to the southern half of Africa where the Vic Falls was our first destination. Beautiful Lodge right on the ZambeziWe stayed here for the last two nights of our honeymoon and weren’t disappointed. The lodge is situated on the banks of the Zambezi offering incredible views over the river. We enjoyed sitting out for pre dinner drinks watching the sunset over the river on the terrace at the end of the day. We stayed in one of the suits which overlooked the river and had its own plunge pool. The accommodation itself was clean, comfortable with a traditional feel which we loved.548austenb
