With a Spa, wine cellar, a lounge with DSTV, WiFi, a small gym all at your expense, Thorntree has some beautiful and fun furnishings. Modern and sleek with a focus on the environment the lodge is built into the surrounding trees, with sleek stone, copper and glass finishing’s. Each suite has its own private deck with plunge pool, river views and spacious king-sized beds. All the bathrooms have a deep bath, a large walk in shower and an outdoor shower with sweeping views towards the falls. You would be forgiven to want to forgo an activity to relax in your room.

Location

Being so close to the falls and within the national park there are plenty of activities you can take part in here. From the excitement of visiting the falls, white water rafting, bungee jumps and private river cruises to the more sedate picnic spots on Livingstone Island. You can take game drives in the national park, it is one of the few places in Zambia where you can find rhino. You can also arrange for a guide to take children round the property on nature walks, storytelling, cooking classes and arts and crafts clubs.

Setting

Thorntree also has a high emphasis on conservation and giving back to the surrounding community. With reusable water bottles for guests, solar power at the lodge and a health centre on the outskirts of the city, Thorntree is committed to making its surroundings a better place. They also run several community events and workshops to help the community and the lodge come together and work together to celebrate the local community and cultivate their talents.

  • Extraordinary luxury with lots to do

    What a beautiful, full-service safari lodge, just 20 km from Victoria Falls or 25 minutes from Livingstone airport. We had just two nights but we wish we could have stayed for 4. Guided tour/escort to the falls (waited while we saw them also from the Zimbabwe side), rhino trek, spa, sunset river cruise, surprise lunch cruise, delicious meals and impeccable service. The villas are decadent and perfectly laid out and stocked with cookies, liquor and amenities. Very romantic, too.

  • Wonderful Lodge

    Thorntree Lodge is excellent! The location is stunning, right on the river a few miles upriver from the Victoria Falls. The meals were well done. The staff was attentive. They arranged some very nice day trips while we were there. Victoria falls and seeing the Rhinos are a must. Our room was new, large and comfortable. It even had it’s own pool. This is one of the nicest places we have ever stayed in.

  • Luxury bush experience

    This fantastic lodge is in the National Park near the Victoria Falls. You ca visit the falls and the National Park. The guiding is excellent. It is great to do a boat safari or do a rhino tracking walking safari.
    The food is fantastic and the service is great, The rooms are very big with fantastic views. No doubt, this is a real luxury bush lodge.
