Walking and Snorkelling

A combination of South Luangwa & Lake Malawi

Get ready to embark on one of the best wilderness experiences of the South Luangwa, a mobile walking safari. You will spend 7 nights in the bush, walking each day between several camps.

Your time in the bush will be spent on foot. During the mobile walking safari, there are no game drives. After a few days of walking you are going to want to rest and recuperate. For this we will fly you to Pumulani in Malawi.

Pumulani is a luxury lodge on the shores of Lake Malawi. Here you will be able to relax in the ultimate comfort and privacy.

Day 1 - 8

RPS Mobile, South Luangwa

The Robin Pope Safaris’ Mobile Walking Safaris have long been known as the best wilderness experience of the South Luangwa. The mobile camps are situated in the far north of South Luangwa, along the perennial Mupamadzi River in Zambia.

After a night at Nkwali, the party drives to the north of the park where they will walk for five days covering approximately 10km a day, following the Mupamadzi River.

The fully serviced mobile camp is extremely comfortable and well-equipped with walk-in tents and full bedding. The shower is under a tree and the toilet is a bush loo with a wooden throne. Meals of a high standard are served under the open sky.

Day 8 - 10

Pumulani, Lake Malawi

Pumulani is situated on the west side of Nankumba Peninsula at the southern end of Lake Malawi – romantically called the “Lake of Stars”. Overlooking both the lake and exclusively nestled within the Lake Malawi National Park, Pumulani has total seclusion and privacy.

The ten villas are scattered amongst the boulders and trees on the hillside and have cooling grass on the roofs. Each is individual in shape and style, with clean curved lines and all have a spacious bedroom, bathroom and sitting area.

With both a private beach and swimming pool on the upper terrace, this is a perfect place simply to relax. For the more active, a wide range of watersports activities is offered from scuba diving to sunset sails on the dhow.
