Take a holistic photographic journey with Dr. Maria Baltazzi through Zambia and Malawi. Enjoy exploring being both on safari and the beach as you are guided through an inner journey that many say is an emotional and spiritual awakening for them. Having an insatiable curiosity to explore and share it with others, Dr. Maria loves taking intimate groups to Africa. Especially those experiencing their first lion in the wild or dipping their feet in Lake Malawi. She always goes the extra mile to create the perfect trip for you.
Dr. Maria is an Emmy-winning TV producer and wellbeing mentor with a PhD in Conscious-centered Living. Having produced series such as Survivor, she has a keen eye for adventure. She has filmed explorers and conservation shows in Tanzania and South Africa. She fell in love with Africa first as a television producer telling stories about adventure. Dr. Maria has been on all seven continents twice. First, as a producer. Then did another lap around the globe, walking more than 2,000 miles training and doing marathons as fundraisers. When Dr. Maria crossed the finish line in Antarctica, her last continent, she decided to create Sojourn Explorers, a luxury wellbeing travel company.
Her mission is to share meaningful travel with others — journeys that are more than simply ticking the box on another destination. That is where her PhD in Conscious-Centered Living comes into play. She shares meaningful travel with her guests, not just taking them to the destination but also guiding them to explore their inner world. Dr. Maria draws insights from the art and science of happiness, positive psychology, spiritual psychology, and mindfulness to create more profound experiences. She also shares these insights through the lens of a camera. She is an Explorer Club Fellow National Member and the North American Ambassador for the Transformational Travel Council.
Combining adventure, wellbeing, luxury, and giving back are the four compass points for every trip curated by Dr. Maria. Before your journey begins, she will spend time understanding and designing the experience you want. During your journey, Dr. Maria will be on hand to have meaningful conversations about your experience, lead mindfulness meditation and movement sessions, and guide reflective time throughout the journey. She will create a personalized Daily Inner Journey Guide Book to bring along and use in follow up conversations once you return home. Every step of the way, Dr. Maria will be there to guide your journey.
