Explore the wilderness of Zambia and the water world of Malawi with your nearest and dearest. Zambia and Malawi are two of the most welcoming countries in Africa and extremely safe for families. We will take you to four incredible lodges where you will have the family adventure of a lifetime.
The adventure begins at Tongabezi in Livingstone. From here you will get to explore the marvellous Victoria Falls. Aside from viewing the Falls, there are a host of activities to partake in from white water rafting to helicopter flights.
After four days in Livingstone it is time to fly to the Lower Zambezi. You will spend the next four nights at the stunning two storey Chongwe River House. This will be your base to explore the phenomenal Lower Zambezi National Park. You and the family can partake in such activities as game drives, walking safaris and boat cruises.
From Chongwe River House to Luangwa Safari House, South Luangwa. The breath-taking Luangwa Safari House sits proudly on a spectacular lagoon which attracts game all year round. The space and privacy of the house is unrivalled and provides an understated luxury combined with a very welcome and friendly feel.
The holiday concludes at Kaya Mawa – Ndomo Point, Lake Malawi. Ndomo Point is a private four-bedroom house on Likoma Island. It is self-contained and fully staffed with a nanny, cook and housekeeper ensuring you can make the most of your time on the island, while generous living areas offer comfort and space to unwind.
Tongabezi is a stunningly stylish and luxurious lodge, with individually and stylishly designed Houses and Cottages situated on the banks of the mighty Zambezi River on the Zambian side of Victoria Falls and just 11 miles upstream of the falls themselves.
Tongabezi also has a private family villa known as The Dog House, which has three separate decks and two small islands connected by wooden walkways. Guests have the services of a dedicated butler and guide as well as an exclusive-use boat and game-drive vehicle.
Enjoy doing as much or as little as you want although there are plenty of activities on offer. Victoria Falls is the adventure capital of Africa with a wide range of white-knuckle activities – like rafting, bungee jumping and bridge swinging – to choose from.
Standing on the banks of the Chongwe River, a quiet tributary of the Zambezi that borders the Lower Zambezi National Park is a unique and elegantly designed, private home. Chongwe River House offers sensational views of the dramatic mountainous escarpment of the Lower Zambezi National Park, and in the foreground, the magnificent river frontage.
The Chongwe area is famous for large elephants, and they will frequently wander through camp in search of seed pods from the winterthorn trees or cross the river right in front of the house.
During your stay, enjoy an impressive variety of safari activities, created for the ultimate exploration of this magnificent African paradise. By land, you can enjoy game drives and walking safaris, or take to the rivers and explore with boat cruises, canoeing safaris and tiger-fishing.
Luangwa Safari House is situated in the magnificent South Luangwa National Park in Zambia. Luangwa House has been designed to assault the senses from the minute you arrive, a strong castle-likee structure looms up in front of you, then and as you enter through the enormous pivoting door, light and grace as the entire front of the house is open to the wilderness.
All activities are exclusive to the houseguests and they will have the use of a private guide and vehicle. Activities at Luangwa Safari House include game drives, night drives and walking safaris.
Luangwa Safari House is open from mid-March to early January. Luangwa Safari House is suitable for families and children of 7 and older are accepted.
Ndomo Point House is set on its own private beach on the south-west corner of the island with uninterrupted views across towards mainland Malawi 72km away.
Ndomo Point House has four beautifully decorated en-suite bedrooms. There is a large stylish living area, large pool and private beach. Dinner is always under the stars and can be served wherever you like at the house, or you may choose to eat on the main beach at Kaya Mawa.
There are plenty of things to do to keep the family entertained from visiting St Peter’s Cathedral, constructed at the end of the 19th century it is the third largest Cathedral in Central Africa to kitesurfing, waterskiing and diving.
Sadly, all good things must come to an end. You will fly from Likoma Island to Lilongwe International Airport for your onward journey.
