Embark on a 15-day exploration of Zambia’s greatest national parks; South Luangwa, Lower Zambezi, Livingstone and Liuwa Plains.
South Luangwa is the best place to see wildlife in Zambia and this is where the adventure begins. You will spend four days at two extraordinary South Luangwa camps, Kakuli and Chinzombo. Both camps offer a wonderful safari experience; whether you choose to spend your days in a safari vehicle or on foot, or even a day in your private pool, you will be amazed by this park.
It’s time to head further south to the Lower Zambezi. This park offers a totally different game viewing experience. The Lower Zambezi is most famed for its water based activities. A canoe ride on the Lower Zambezi River provides a game viewing experience like no other. Share the water with crocodiles and hippos and sight animals such as elephants visiting the water’s edge for a drink.
After four days in the Lower Zambezi we take a break from the bush and visit Livingstone. Where you will have the opportunity to visit the Victoria Falls, the largest waterfall in the world. At the Falls, there’s an abundance of activities for you to try, from helicopter rides to river surfing.
The final park on this great adventure is Liuwa Plain. This remote park in the far west is pristine wilderness. The game is harder to spot than at South Luangwa and the Lower Zambezi but for many this is the attraction. The reward of seeing a herd of wildebeest, pack of wild dogs or pride of lions is far greater when more time has been spent searching. At Liuwa Plain you can expect green and gold grasslands creating spectacular views and fantastic photographic opportunities.
Kakuli boasts a wonderful location on an elevated stretch of riverbank, overlooking a wide grazing lawn that follows the Luangwa River until it meets its confluence with the Luwi. There are four walk-in Meru style tents, with thatched roofs, cosy beds, bedside tables, simple wardrobes and large shady verandas.
Activities consist of morning and afternoon game drives, Kakuli also really encourages walking safaris and you can easily combine many camps with these excursions, stopping and staying a few nights at a range of different lodges and camps, in this case Chinzombo.
Luxurious yet also elegantly natural, Chinzombo Camp is tucked into the shade of ancient trees on a bend of the Luangwa River. Six beautiful villas combine a modern architectural feel with natural materials such as leather, reeds and canvas. Each beautifully situated villa boasts its own private plunge pool and is situated on an elevated deck that boasts views of the tranquil river.
Venture into one of the most game rich areas of the national park with our award-winning guiding team. The South Luangwa is renowned for its world-class predator action, with especially strong sightings of the elusive leopard. Explore the region’s diverse habitats with game drives, safari walks and boat cruises (seasonal).
