Embark on a 12-day romantic adventure of the bush of South Luangwa and the beach of Lake Malawi.
South Luangwa is the best place to see wildlife in Zambia and this is where the adventure begins. For your first four nights, you will stay at Nkonzi. Nkonzi is off the grid and provides a very intimate and true safari experience.
Your next four nights will be spent at Chikunto. Situated along the iconic Luangwa River, Chikunto opened in April 2018, it is in a wonderful location for game viewing and quickly becoming renowned for its prolific wildlife.
From the bush to the beach. You will leave South Luangwa for Lake Malawi. Your time here will be split between Blue Zebra and Mumbo Island. Blue Zebra is situated on Nankoma Island and is a fantastic place to wind down for a couple of days.
To end this romantic excursion you will spend two nights at Mumbo Island, a rustic island where you can disconnect from the world for a couple of days before returning, recharged for life’s adventures.
Nkonzi Camp’s walk-in safari tents are a lovely mix of back-to-nature charm and serious safari comfort. With only four tents accommodating a maximum of eight guests at any one time, Nkonzi never feels overcrowded. You will always receive the personalised holiday experience that we’re famous for.
A small bush-bar is situated under the ebony trees, perfectly positioned to keep an eye on the comings and goings around camp. The perfect place to unwind with a post-dinner drink before settling in for the night in anticipation for the following day’s activities.
Chikunto Safari Lodge is located less than an hour’s drive from the South Luangwa National Park’s Mfuwe gate. Flanked by rolling plains, plateaus, river banks and miombo vegetation our lodge is located in an area of distinctive natural beauty.
Chikunto has four luxury tents and one family tent each built on raised decking. Tents are appointed with king or twin beds, mosquito net, comfortable seating area, wardrobe and en-suite bathroom. Adjoining each tent is a covered outdoor seating area.
Blue Zebra Island Lodge is a beautiful piece of paradise around an hour from Lilongwe. Set in Lake Malawi National Park it is a paradise for nature lovers; from the brilliant birdlife to the animals in the lake and the colourful Cichlid fish, which the lodge is named after. Blue Zebra have luxurious tents overlooking the lake, an infinity pool, cocktail bar and some of the best food in Malawi, it is the perfect place to rest and relax at the start or end of your trip!
Mumbo Island is about a 40 minute boat ride from the mainland. Let it take you away from modern distractions, mobile phones and normal hectic life. Instead enjoy walks on the white sandy beach, a glass of good wine as the sun sets, crystal clear blue water- where you don’t even need a snorkel mask to see the fish! Take a good book or kayak round the island and simply enjoy the rustic nature of the island and the stunning views.
Alas, all good things must come to an end. We will transfer you to the airport for your onward journey.
